Privacy Policy — Screenshot Brain
App: Screenshot Brain: Find & Clean (ai.screenshotbrain.app)
Effective date: 21 October 2026
Contact: e11toolapps@gmail.com
Screenshot Brain organizes the screenshots on your phone. It is built to work on the device: your screenshots, the text read from them and everything you add stay on your phone unless you choose to share or export them. There is no account and no sign-in.
What stays on your phone
- Your screenshots, the text recognized in them, tags, notes, collections, reminders, search history and chat questions.
- Text recognition (Google ML Kit and Tesseract) and the optional Gemini Nano assistant run on the device. Their input is never sent to us or to Google by this app.
- The Private folder is encrypted on the device and opened with your PIN or biometrics.
- Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer of app data are turned off. A backup file is only made when you ask for one; it is encrypted with your passphrase and saved where you choose.
- Photos you take with "Take a photo". It opens your phone's camera app (the app never holds the camera permission), and the picture stays on your phone like any screenshot.
What leaves your phone
- Ads. The app shows ads from Google AdMob: banners at the end of screens, ad cards in lists (always marked "Advertisement"), a full-screen ad now and then after you finish a task, and a video you can choose to watch to hide ads for an hour. Only ads suitable for a general audience are requested. Before any ad is requested, Google's consent form is shown where the law requires it. AdMob receives device information such as the advertising ID, IP address (from which an approximate location can be derived) and ad interactions, as described in Google's privacy policy. No screenshot, recognized text, search, tag or screen name is ever passed to an ad request. You can reset or limit the advertising ID in Android settings, and change your ad consent under Settings when the consent framework applies to you.
- Ad settings. The app fetches its ad frequency settings from Firebase Remote Config, which receives a Firebase installation ID and basic app and device details (such as the app version and language). It is used only to make ads less frequent or switch them off; no screenshot content or usage history is sent.
- Usage statistics, only if you turn them on (Settings, off by default). Google Analytics for Firebase then receives automatic app events (such as app opens and the app version) with an app-instance ID. No screenshot content is included. Turning the switch off stops collection and deletes the app-instance data on the device.
- Downloads. Optional recognition packs for some scripts are downloaded from GitHub (Tesseract language data) or from Google (ML Kit modules, translation packs and Gemini Nano, through Google Play services where available). These requests contain no screenshot content.
- Things you choose to send. When you share, open a link, call a number, add a calendar event or save a picture, the content goes to the app you pick. Share Safely removes hidden details first when you ask it to.
Permissions
- Photos: to find your screenshots and new ones automatically, read their text on the phone and spot duplicates to clean up. Images are only read on the phone and never uploaded. You can allow all photos, allow only selected photos, or decline and import screenshots with the Android photo picker or by sharing them to the app.
- Notifications: for smart actions, reminders, sensitive-content alerts and the optional weekly digest.
- Alarms and reminders: so reminders arrive on time when you allow it; otherwise they arrive around the set time.
- Biometrics: to open the Private folder.
Shares from banking apps
If a banking app shares a screenshot with Screenshot Brain, the app asks before keeping it and keeps it only as a payment proof.
Your choices and deleting data
- Delete any screenshot, note or reminder in the app; items in the Bin are removed for good after the Bin period or when you empty it.
- Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on the phone. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on a server.
Children
Screenshot Brain is not directed at children under 13.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be shown in the app with a new effective date and posted at https://zahiduohcy.github.io/screenshot-brain-privacy/. For privacy questions or requests, email e11toolapps@gmail.com.
